v Agriculture Policy : A comprehensive policy declared by Government of Assam (GoA)

vAmendment of the Agriculture Produce Marketing Act on the lines of GoI Model Act: is under active consideration. Aims to deregulate agricultural wholesale marketing in order to allow: (a) direct purchase from farmers, (b) private participation in establishment & management of agricultural wholesale markets, and (c) wholesale transactions outside of the regulated markets.

v Amendment sought of Assam Fishery Rules: Effected

v Enactment of Fish Seed Act: Enacted by Assam Legislative Assembly in March 2005.

v A new Irrigation (Amendment) Act is in place.

v A Livestock Policy declared  along with a separate Breeding Policy for Cattle and Buffalo.

v Notification Issued to facilitate pilot Agriculture Extension Reforms on  Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) model

v Established an Independent Assam Livestock Development Agency to deliver AI and other livestock services with functional and managerial autonomy to set commercially viable prices for goods and services provided by it.

v Powers of registration of Cooperatives of Fishery and Dairy have invested on Fishery and Dairy officials respectively.

v Efforts on to rope in NDDB or similar other agency for reviving 60,000 lpd WAMUL Dairy plant.

v A Road Maintenance Policy is in place.

v State Road Board is notified and functional.

v Time and cost-effective Standard Bridge Design is completed. IRC scrutiny and Formal notification awaited.
