Overview

Assam Agri-business and Rural Transformation Project (APART) has launched ‘Kshyamata’ to promote Agri Enterprises in Assam. This initiative will enable the youth, existing Agri enterprises and start-ups in Agri and allied sector, thus, creating a vibrant agribusiness ecosystem in Assam.

Program Approach

The program aims to support 1300 Agri enterprises, both new and existing Agri enterprises and facilitate their growth and expansion through technical assistance and integrated business support services thus increasing the sustainability of an early-stage enterprise.

The program would facilitate establishment and growth of Agri enterprises through different services (business development, technology access, experts and continuous handholding) while emphasizing building capacity, facilitating access to market, access to finance through convergence with various government schemes.

The program offerings :

Capacity building of agri enterprises

  • Introduction to high growth agribusiness opportunities and technologies.
  • Capacity building through exposure to selected agribusiness opportunities Training on agri business management, entrepreneurship, business finance, marketing, management skills, for making the enterprise investment ready

Business Development Services

  • Business advisory services: technical, managerial, marketing, financial and legal advisory services to the agri entrepreneurs for management of their business.
  • Faciliate technology/ know how transfer required for starting of agribusiness venture
  • Provide business coaching and monitoring to help put business plans into action.

Facilitating access to finance

  • Preparations of “bankable” business plan and facilitate required documentation support for availing of credit.
  • Liaison with the various financial institutions for partnering or supporting the upcoming enterprises
  • Convergence of existing policies and schemes (Government of India / Government of Assam) for supporting the enterprises


Categories of Agri-business

• Agricultural Production, Post Harvest and value addition/processing

• Appropriate technology and agribusiness models ready for scale-up/ commercialization/investments e.g. irrigation, storage, cultivation

• Agriculture services:

  • - Aggregation, supply chain management and distribution.
  • - Agriculture inputs (seeds, fertilizer, pesticides etc.)
  • - ICT in agriculture and agribusiness sector

• ICT in agriculture and agribusiness sector

• Providing farm services through agro entrepreneurs (Agri Clinics & Agri. Business centres) including custom hiring of services, for:

  • - Implements, grading, packaging, branding of agricultural produce and Agro
  • - Information Services

• Any other relevant area category of Agri Enterprises

Eligible Projects

  • Viable projects for building community farming assets.
  • Projects on hub and spoke model and
  • Post-Harvest Management Projects like - Supply chain services including e-marketing platforms, Warehouses, Silos, Packaging units, Assaying units, Sorting & Grading units, Cold Stores and Cold Chain, Logistics facilities, Primary processing centers, Ripening Chambers, Waxing plants and other facilities to reduce post-harvest losses

Who Can Apply?

  • Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS).
  • Marketing Cooperative Societies.
  • Farmer Producers Organizations(FPOs).
  • Farmers.
  • Self Help Group (SHG).
  • Joint Liability Groups (JLG).
  • Multipurpose Cooperative Societies.
  • Agri-entrepreneurs, Startups.
  • Central/State agency or Local Body sponsored Public-Private Partnership Projects.

APART Shall Facilitate

  • Registration of the eligible applicants on the online portal
  • Provide handholding support for projects including project report preparation.
  • Technical assistance for project related areas.
  • Advisory and guidance on project planning.
  • Implementation support.


APART has launched Kshyamata – Empowering Agri enterprises of Assam. In the first year, the program invites online/ offline enrollment of Agri-enterprises/ Individuals from Kamrup, Nalbari, Sonitpur, Cachar, Goalpara , Jorhat , Golaghatdistricts of Assam. We have extended our program invites to four additional districts from Barpeta , Lakhimpur , Karbi-Anglong & Kokrajhar through online/ offline mode.

Eligibility Criteria:

NEW BUSINESS

Entrepreneurs who have an idea in the Agri & Allied sector/food processing sector/ or have received training in the sector.

Entrepreneurs wanting to start an agribusiness with strong growth potential will be preferred in the selection process.

Individuals/ entrepreneurs having professional experience and education and can demonstrate technical expertise

Preference will be given to entrepreneurs having an active Bank Account

EXISTING BUSINESS

Enterprises existing agribusiness/ food processing enterprise and are looking to scale.

Enterprises looking to raise no more than One crore (1 cr) within 6-8 months.

Preference will be given to enterprises having a registered entity

Enterprise business scope, function, and activities falling within the purview of the program.
